Twilight Travel Song

by stewart

As I travel in twilight

My mind is filled

With memories of days long past;

Friends, co-workers, forgotten;

People loved

And joyful holidays.

Now I am visited

By different friends;

These fill me with pain

And disease;

Taking youth and vigor.

You know, the wise claim

Pain is part of us;

Reminding

Where we came from

And where we will be

Upon the morrow.

I try not to dwell on these things.

Leaving them for more peaceful

Songs of the heart;

Slowly leading me on

To another home.

Today like a fragile butterfly

I feel the cold wind shatter my wings,

And shiver

In the fading twilight.

i have a friend who always says that sometimes we have to “die before (we) die”.

Certainly these days when there is so much hate and violence in the world, it is painful to observe, regardless of other, more personal, types of pain.

You remembered, thank you! This really reveals a lot of pain that has attached itself to you.

The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts; therefore guard accordingly.
Marcus Aurelius

But of course I’m sure you know this already. You are very brave to share such thoughts.

Be Blessed,

Alaysia
