Happiness #3

by stewart

Happiness is an emotional state of mind and for the most part comes and goes. Also it is state which can be learned and refined. Often we make our self-unhappy by replaying those things we consider distasteful.

When something happens that is painful, usually it is over in a matter of seconds. We all have a tendency to extend by talking about or remembering different aspects of the painful event.  While a certain amount of this is helpful- getting it out of our system- most of us do far too much of this.

We all need to recognize our patterns of negative thinking and self-talk so we can consciously make the decision to be happier. If we are aware of our ‘old demons’ and know how to disarm them, we can replace them with happier more tranquil states.

And it is only after we become masters of our thoughts and psychological process, that the spiritual awareness fully matures and steps forward.
