Speak to me of Prayer?

by stewart

Q:     Speak to me of prayer?

Prayer is a song that arises from our heart and tells the sweet, tale of love.  It is a whisper that comes from the depth of our soul and a melody through which we can share secrets, weakness, dreams and desires with our Beloved.

In prayer there must be no compulsion; it is not something that can be forced or taught.  Real prayer is as natural as breathing; it is a song, an expression of our eternal self.

The great ones have taught, the most glorious prayer is the life that is lived for God. Learn to make your life a prayer and every moment sing the song of creation.

Prayer

Traveler:  Holy One, speak to me of prayer.

Master:    As the robin serenades the morning

And offers thanks for another day,

In this way, prayer is a song

That arises from the heart.

As the mother caresses the babe

And her heart swells with love,

In this way, prayer is sweeter

Than the rarest wine.

As the sun travels the heavens

And heralds the morning,

In this way, prayer is the work

That we must do.

Prayer takes endless forms

And many times we are confined

To the ritual of praying.

True prayer is performing

All the tasks of the day as God’s servant.

Remember we pray to the Beloved

Because we need God.

The Most High

Does not need our prayers.

The Great One does not need our prayers…
For the Great one knows them already…

the Great One merely wants to enfold us with unconditional Love.

Yet, the Great One wants us to live… and be strong.

i like to tell people that prayer – or it’s generic equivalent on their path – is an equal oppurtunity endeavor! GRIN!

It is higher intention and focus that turns everyday activity into a prayer.
